Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 7, 2026
This is a starting template written for an individual freelancer, not a certified legal contract. It should be reviewed by a lawyer before being relied on for paid client work, especially for clients outside Suriname where different consumer protection rules may apply.

Who you're working with

OIAM Studios ("OIAM," "the studio," "we") is an independent freelance design and development practice operated by one person, based in Paramaribo, Suriname. It is not currently a registered legal entity.

Services

OIAM Studios provides graphic design, web design, and web development services on a project or per-request basis, as agreed directly with each client via WhatsApp before work begins.

Scope and quotes

Before starting any paid work, OIAM will confirm the scope and price directly with you. Work outside that agreed scope (extra pages, major revisions beyond what was discussed, additional features) may be quoted separately.

Client-provided content

If you provide images, text, logos, or other material for your project, you confirm you have the right to use them. OIAM Studios is not responsible for verifying the copyright status of content a client supplies (see also: Copyright, below).

Copyright and ownership

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, ownership of the final delivered files (code, design assets) transfers to the client once payment is complete. OIAM Studios retains the right to display the completed work in its own portfolio, including this site, unless the client requests otherwise.

Payment

Payment terms are agreed per project before work begins. See the separate Refund Policy for cancellation terms.

No guarantees of specific outcomes

OIAM Studios builds sites and designs to a professional standard, but does not guarantee specific business outcomes (sales, traffic, rankings) as a result of the work delivered.

Limitation of liability

As an individual freelancer, OIAM Studios' liability for any claim related to a project is limited to the amount paid for that specific project.

Governing approach

Suriname does not currently have a specific enacted e-commerce or digital services statute covering all of these terms, so general contract principles apply. For any dispute, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the issue directly before pursuing other means.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the studio's practices formalize. Continued use of OIAM Studios' services after an update means you accept the current version.
